Blue Devils rough up Whitney Point at home

At Chenango Forks, Cody Lamond scored three total touchdowns, and teammates Ryan Bronson and L.J. Watson added two each to lead the host Blue Devils (6-1, 4-0) to an easy 48-6 Division IV victory against Whitney Point on Saturday.

Lamond, a junior halfback, returned two punts for touchdowns (68 and 27 yards), and took his only carry of the day 32 yards for a touchdown. All three scores came in the first quarter. Watson had an interception returned for a score, and added a 1-yard plunge in the second quarter to give the hosts a 48-0 lead at halftime.

Bronson finished with 38 rushing yards with two touchdowns and teammate Tim McDonald was the game’s leading rusher with two carries for 56 yards. The Forks’ defense limited Whitney Point to 131 yards offense.
