Forks rides early lead past Oneonta

Joe Aston scored early and Chenango Forks was never headed
thereafter Saturday en route to a 21-6 Section 4 Football
Conference Division III victory over visiting Oneonta.
Aston ran 29 yards for a touchdown on the Blue Devils'
second possession and Dylan Warner added the point after for
a 7-0 lead.
Early in the third quarter, Bryan Lance helped give the Blue
Devils (3-0, 5-1) a 14-0 lead on a dive into the end zone.
Warner caught a pass from Lance and was tackled at the
Oneonta 1-yard line, to set up Lance's score.
On the ensuing drive the Yellowjackets (0-3, 2-4) turned
the ball over deep into their territory after a botched snap
to the punter. Aston scored his second TD on a 5-yard run.
Brendan Pidgeon scored Oneonta's touchdown late in the
fourth quarter.
Aston rushed 15 times for 84 yards.
"It was a hard hitting game in the trenches, they were
really stubborn on defense and made us work for every yard
we gained," Forks coach Kelsey Green said.
The Blue Devils head to Norwich on Friday night and the
Yellowjackets head to Susquehanna Valley on Saturday.
