Chenango Forks extends streak with easy
victory

The Chenango Forks football machine kept
rolling Saturday afternoon.
Rick Mirabito scored two touchdowns, as the Blue Devils
cruised to a 47-6 victory over visiting Unadilla Valley in a
Section 4 Football Conference Division IV contest.
The Blue Devils extended their winning streak to 33 games,
the longest active winning streak in New York state.
Jarred Wells got things going for Forks with a 57-yard
touchdown run in the first quarter, as the Blue Devils built
a 34-0 halftime lead.
Six players scored touchdowns for Forks (7-0), and 13
players had at least one carry.
"It was a really good day for us all around," Forks coach
Kelsey Green said. "We had a great opportunity to get the
football to a lot of kids. They ran hard, and we played a
lot of kids up front today."
Trevor Franklin scored on a 46-yard touchdown run for
Unadilla Valley (0-7).

Chenango Forks 47, UV 6
Rick Mirabito scored twice to lead host Chenango Forks to a
Division IV victory.
Mirabito finished with 40 yards on four carries. Jarred
Wells led the Blue Devils (7-0, 4-0) with 56 yards on two
carries. Wells opened the scoring in the first quarter with
a 57-yard touchdown.
Chenango Forks, which has won two straight Class B state
titles, is ranked first in the state.
Trevor Franklin scored on a 46-yard run in the third quarter
for Unadilla Valley (0-7, 0-4). Justin Plows had 91 yards on
18 carries for the Storm, who travel to Chenango Valley on
Saturday.

Unadilla Valley-Edmeston (0-6) at Chenango Forks (6-0), Saturday, 1:30 p.m.
UV-E is playing its first Class B season ever, and this weekend draws the reigning kingpins of Class B the past two years. Forks is approaching 50 straight wins against Section IV competition, and seem to be gelling at the right time. Windsor took the Blue Devils into the fourth quarter and was tied, before the state champions rallied. Rick Mirabito, Jim and Joe Nicholson, and Tyler Spencer head a power running game.
